Appreciative Thoughts of the Day

Makana came into the kitchen bringing two cups from the table. The look in her eyes was so bright as she felt so good helping out. (She really enjoys doing whatever we do, esp helping with whatever we are doing. She did this on her own.)

Makana often wakes up, realizes it is daytime and declares, "It's daylight out! It's time to get up." She then usually goes back to sleep for a little longer and gets up all bright-eyed and enthusiastic to start the day. It is so joyful to see her so happy and eager. Just like when she plays in the backyard and runs and screams and has tons of fun! It is such a joy to Jim and I to watch the kids have fun, esp at home running around in the yard. (We have always wanted a backyard for our kids to play in.)

Katie writes ILUVYOUMOMNDAD and other messages with the magnetic letters on the fridge. She is so sweet! I write back to her sometimes (WELOVEYOUKT or something like that). Katie used to make up the most beautiful and profound poems on the fridge when we had the magnetic words on there. I took them off a while ago...probably because they were within Makana's reach when she began to walk.

Li is really into different things. Wants to be "the best" at certain things. I love his determination.

Today Li caught a fish (wide mouth bass!!) at Alford Lake! It was his second time fishing and he was so excited he screamed out to me and Makana on the dock, "I caught a fish! I caught a fish! I caught a fish!" He handed Jim the pole and ran to tell Keely and Katie who were in the minivan. Wow! So cool how excited he was! Jim said he will always remember that moment!

Want to say many loving thoughts about Wolfie, but must take Makana up to bed. She is asking to be taken up.
